The year passed of so quickly yeah, its July 4 again. The best time of the year. It has been 232 years since the July 4, 1776,
an unforgetable day for any American. It has been 232 years United States Of America claimed independence from Great Britain!
Each day thousands leave their homeland to experience the American Dream and live in the land of the free and the home of the brave!
In 1777, thirteen guns were fired, once at morning and again as evening fell, on July 4 in Bristol, Rhode Island.
Philadelphia celebrated the first anniversary with an official dinner for the Continental Congress, toasts, 13-gun salutes, speeches,
prayers, music, parades, troop reviews, and fireworks. It is only in 1941, the US Congress made Independence Day to a paid federal holiday.
That was really late right! Well the excitement is on, July 4 is just a few days away, so bring out colors people lets have a blast. God Bless America!!
Wow!! It was massive! The big day; it got the Mozilla servers to the knees. The downloaded number is a massive 9,695,999.
That is just a tad above 9.6 million. Man that is huge. The leading nation title being held by United States at above 3 million downloads.
All of this in just 24 hours, in making history! This is as massive as it can get. This massive number is only 0.14% of the world’s present
population; well it makes you wonder. 9.6 million People in the making of history!
Check out the individual region download statistic & the download counter.
History is in making again. Download Day 2008. We had D-day before but this time it is not war! It is by far obvious by now I endorse
Firefox as the supreme browser. And it got even better now. It’s Firefox 3. The best Firefox yet and literally I mean it. I was using
for the last few months betas and release candidates of Firefox 3 but today finally the final version is out. That is not the only
thing that is driving the world crazy now. Firefox is aiming for the Guinness Book of World Records as the most software downloaded
in 24 hours. WOW!!!
Go ahead download it, be a part of history!
In the last few weeks I was bombarded with multitudes of spam messages sent through the contact form. The entirety of the message consisted of links.
I even had to shutdown GBk, my guestbook due to this spam trouble. Things have changed now, GBk has been re-launched and also the contact form is updated.
Before you could just click on send and a blank form would be submitted and sent over to me. Then the message could also be unlimited number of characters
and was not restricted to nothing but the browser limitation. People submitted forms with invalid email and two letter names. Though the message itself was
enormously long. Well gone are those days. I have made a strict limitation of seventy-five character for the message and also invalided out the two letter
names and invalid emails. So the bottom line is, to send me a message you need to fill up a proper name, email and restrict your message to less than
seventy-five and more than two characters. Neat huh? :D
Soon to be the dawn of JamesUnified.com v2.0 on upcmomming July '08 but.... before that this new
design in tribute to the hot summers we are having.... daaam its hot... :D
people did not know how to call themselves, later they became a tad more intelligent and
associated each other with some sound. Later on they came upon a nomenclature, names. Well
now in the present world just a name is not enough for complete identity. A Complete Web
Presence is required.
Well this is about me James aka Swapnendu 'James' Sarkar and this is my portal. Well, I wouldn't call
this a portal yet cause it is at present too small for being a portal! I am working at
creating my complete web identity for quite some time now but it takes resources and most
importantly time. Just for the record, this is version 0.50 of my site. Before this there
has been 3 more. I am working real hard to be perfectionist about my version 1.0 but, as
always it takes time.
Why is this JU here? Is it just about someone named Swapnendu with a nickname James? Well
No! It is not just about me, it is also about the world of technology and the web. From this
version and onwards I will be posting articles about technology and related happenings. If
you would like to see some particular topic please feel free to tell me about it and I
promise to try to best to write on that. There will not be any categorization or talk page or
RSS Feeds with this edition but that will be incorporated with the future versions of the
site.
Drive safe, think positive, and visit me often. Good Luck!
